At Leiden University, tuition fees are calculated per academic year-cycle, which runs from 1 September to 31 August. How much you are required to pay depends on your nationality and study programme.
Check Tuition fees for master’s programmes for the most up-to-date information on tuition rates.
To determine your tuition rate, please use the student tuition calculator. Master’s students starting in February only need to pay a pro-rata fee for the remaining period that they are registered at the university (1 February to 31 August). When they re-register for the next academic year in September, they will be requested to pay the remainder of the tuition fee.
Tuition waiver available for non-EU/EEA nationals
For non-EU/EEA nationals, a 75% tuition waiver may be granted by Leiden Observatory under certain conditions. If you would like to qualify for a waiver, please contact us by email before enrolment in the Master’s in Astronomy programme.
